The Corrèze, the Creuse, the Vézère and the Vienne all have their sources in Haute-Corrèze. The multitude of streams and brooks give rise to these rivers, exceptional biological environments and a paradise for otters.

The source of the Corrèze

At more than 910m, the Corrèze, south of Pérols-sur-Vézère, is born in the northern part of the forest of Larfeuil, within the regional nature Park of Millevaches in Limousin.

The source of the Creuse

At 816m altitude, on the plateau of Millevaches, in the department which gives it its name, this source is located on the edge of the D8, at the place called Chirat, on the commune of Mas d’Artige, Discover them thanks to a special educational circuit !

The source of the Vézère

Its name originates from the ancient hydronym Vizara or Izara, which means “waterways in the Hollow Valley”. It is located in the Longeyroux Peatbog, at an altitude of 887m.

The source of the Vienne

Nestled in the heart of a protected peat bog, the three springs that give birth to the Vienne are well-hidden. A few hundred metres from each other, on the Corrèzien heights of the plateau of Millevaches, they offer a water of perfect purity. Discover them thanks to a special educational circuit !
