A double use : Gives value to old varieties of apples and employs handicapped people

To safeguard a production of traditional cider, about fifteen local growers kept the old variety “La Blandurette”. In 2009, the cooperative was acquired by an ethical company, which employs disabled workers. The cider house now produces some 20,000 bottles of cider and apple juice each year and fulfills the double mission it has set itself !

A product marked ‘Parc’

The national mark, ‘Valeurs Parc*Naturel Régional’ is a guarantee for consummers. In effect, a product stamped with ‘Parc Natural Régional de Millevaches en Limousin’ means, that :

  • to remain associated with the territory – apples must be cultivated and pressed within the park, the use of local varieties which are adapted to the soil
  • to respect the environment – synthetic fertilizers and chemical weed killers prohibited, no addition of synthetic products during manufacture
  • to favour an economic activity on a human scale – manual harvesting and sorting, enhancement of know-how, sale to the public on site.

So you can consume them with a clear conscience !
