Energy production in Haute-Corrèze isn’t just confined to dams. Discover the wind turbine park at Peyrelevade! Put into service in 2005, these 6 wind turbines of 70m perched at 900m of altitude, are situated near to the village of Neuvialle, midway between Pigerolles and Peyrelevade. The first wind turbines to be installed in the Limousin, visible from 30km away, they each have a power of 1.5mW, a collective total of 9mW, which produces enough electricity for a town of 18,000 people for a year (heating not included). The electricity produced is connected to the EDF network at the dam of Faux-la-Montagne.
