WHAT IS A “FISHING ROOSTER” ?

The fishing chickens of Corrèze are bred over time with a focus on the quality of their plumage. Raised in semi-open-air conditions, their feathers feature an incredible palette of speckled grey and gold. Their famous feathers are used to make fly fishing lures, for very prized fishing tackle !

More than 150 roosters will be present!

SELECTION CRITERIA

They are strict and well established.

Floatiness, mimicry of insects through colour, shine, strength, elasticity, transparency…

THE FEATHERS

Each feather is designed for a specific tying: hackles (neck feathers) are for dry flies; cape feathers (back feathers) are suitable for drowned flies, wing feathers for abdomens, and lancets (side feathers) for large lures.

This meeting is a must for exchanges between breeders and assembly professionals.
