Spectacle Ecotone

What is an ECOTONE? An ecotone is a zone of transition and contact between two neighboring ecosystems, such as the edge of a forest, a reedbed, etc. Ecotones are richer in flora and fauna than the two ecosystems they separate. Ecotones have a richer fauna and flora than either of the two ecosystems they separate, and they sometimes repopulate the latter.
