Fishing is a hit!

How to fish ?

The Haute-Corrèze offers a large number of rivers of both first and second categories. For several years now the departmental fishing federation has put into place specific Catch and Release (parcours de graciation) zones for fishing.

  • There are three types of “gracation” zones:
  1. Yellow colour = heritage population. Artificial lure fishing only. (Petite Vézère, Vézère, Chavanon)
  2. Blue colour = High density of fish due to regular releases. All fishing methods permitted. (Vézère).
  3. Green Colour = Sanctuary area. Artificial lure fishing only.

Where can you fish on the fluctuating waters of a reservoir?

To find out in real time about the accessibility of our boat launches and the water levels in our lakes, check out the 100% Corrèze application NIV’EAU set up by our partners EDF, the Corrèze Fishing Federation and the Departmental Council.

Neuvic, the capital of the coq de pêche !

Every year on May 1st, Neuvic organises a national competiton called ”Les Coqs de Pêche” where roosters which have been bred to imitate the colours of insects are exhibited. Some of their feathers are used to make lures. A market in the town centre makes this a memorable day.
